e - white

installation from e-waste, mixed media, 2015

"e - white" is created on site from e-waste and is a part of Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism \ Architecture that takes place at former Dacheng Flour Factory, Shenzhen, China (4.12.2015 - 28.02.2016).

All electronic garbage has been gathered in Shenzhen, one of the largest industrial centers of China, in which a huge amount of electronic devices is made and used. The artist studies and modifies the garbage from the perspective of an archaeologist of the future. E-waste is painted in sterile white. From these decrepit computers, TV sets, washing machines, surveillance cameras, phones, cables, etc. the artist creates complicated "electronic device" which absorbs all their functions and controls itself.
